Become a PCIT Trainer

WHO IS THE BEST FIT TO BE A TRAINER?

Ready to take the next step in your PCIT journey? Becoming a Within Agency Trainer empowers you to teach and supervise PCIT therapists within your own program or agency. Ideal candidates include independently licensed mental health providers-such as psychologists, clinical social workers, counselors-or psychology trainees in their doctoral internships or postdoctoral fellowships. You must have successfully led at least four PCIT cases to graduation, including a minimum of three where you were the primary or equal co-therapist, and two within the past two years.

Candidates begin by completing an 8-hour training course led by a Global or Regional Trainer, focusing on coaching, fidelity, and supervision skills. Over the next 12 months, you'll receive monthly supervision as you observe, coach, and guide at least one therapist-in-training through a full PCIT case.

This role is a perfect match for seasoned PCIT therapists who are passionate about mentoring others, maintaining high-quality PCIT practice within their agencies, and ensuring consistent, model-adherent delivery of care.
